地主麻衣子はこれまで、「愛」や「死」といった人間にとって根源的でありながら、しかし捉えにくい物事を主題に、映像を中心としたインスタレーションを発表してきました。
本展のための新作《空耳》において地主は、過去に耳にした不思議な音を手がかりに、私たちの生活をとりまく様々な現象やテクノロジーと、それを捉える私たちの感覚の間に存在する、豊かな詩的空間を、美術館の展示室の中に立ち上がらせました。
本記録集では、展示風景画像やエッセイなどに加え、最新作《空耳》と重要な過去作についても網羅したロング・インタビューも掲載。国内外でますます注目に集まる地主麻衣子の作品についてより深く知り、楽しむことのできる一冊です。


Jinushi Maiko has, to date, presented video-based installations on the themes of love or death, which are fundamental concepts for humans but which are also difficult to grasp. In her new work for MAM Project, Mishearings, she uses a mysterious sound she heard in the past as a clue to create a rich, poetic space in the museum's exhibition room that exists between the various phenomena and technologies that surround our lives and our senses that perceive them. In addition to images of the exhibition contents and descriptive essays, this exhibition catalogue also features a long interview that covers not only her latest work, Mishearings, but also looks at her important past works. This catalogue allows you to learn more about and enjoy Jinushi Maiko's work, which is attracting more and more attention both in Japan and overseas
